Sunday 15th January v Hamble Yellow

Stoneham Park was one of very few grass venues on at the weekend, the pitch we played on looking like a throw back to the 80ís with mud everywhere after 2 matches were played before ours.
Storm started like a train and scored freely in the first 6 minutes, with some good passing, using our speed to get in behind the defence and producing some really deft finishing.
There really was no way back for Hamble after that start, but all credit to them, they made a real game of it after those first few minutes and showed that they could play some good football.
Both teams created chances, both played some good football and both teams seemed to really enjoy it. The second game was more evenly matched, Storm controlled it but were a bit flat compared
to the first game, both keepers made several good saves, and left the pitch covered in mud, but thankfully with smiles on their faces. Some of the football we played would have had a
better outcome if it wasnít so muddy, at times we did everything right and then the final ball just got held up in the mud, which was now thick and sticky. An excellent hour of football from Storm,
a real team effort, and after a really tough first half of the season, these are the rewards they will get for playing some really good football. Take the knocks and enjoy moments like this when they
come along, fully deserved boys! Well done to everyone involved!

Sunday 8th January v AFC Totton

The second half of the season kicked off against AFC Totton, in dry but cold weather, but with a muddy, bobbly pitch. This did not deter Storm who played some great football, passing and moving
and generally playing for each other and as a team. We made a few mistakes, but the desire to get back and win he ball again was really good to see. We are trying to lay a high, pressing game,
and when we did the opposition made mistakes, and we had a lot of possession. In the first game the opposition goalkeeper made it very hard for us to beat him, even 3 one on oneís went his way.
In the second game it felt like Storm dominated the game, but we found it hard to score, eventually we did, to loud cheers from the sidelines. After 2 entertaining matches, both teams went home happy!! Thanks to AFC Totton, 2 good games, played in the right spirit and enjoyed by all those watching. A really good start, well done Storm.
